Review: MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15

Hello everybody!

I have wanted to try out a MAC foundation for ages and ages and last week I finally decided to get one. So I got my wallet ready and went to the MAC store, where the makeup artist recommended the Studio Fix Fluid foundation. She told me it has a medium to full coverage and it is very good if you have oily skin, which I have. So if you're interested, keep on reading to see what I think about this foundation!

What  MAC says about Studio Fix Fluid
A modern foundation that combines a natural matte finish and medium, buildable coverage with broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15 protection. Applies, builds and blends easily and evenly. Comfortable and long-wearing, helps minimize the appearance of pores and imperfections, giving skin a smoother, more flawless look and finish (MAC).

Packaging
I absolutely love the packaging that all MAC products have. Even the little matte black box your products come in looks classy. The Studio Fix Fluid foundation comes in a round glass bottle with a twistable matte black cap. This way it's really easy to see which color you're going get.
When you screw the lid off, you find your foundation, but it's quite a thick formula, so you can't really pour some of the product onto the back of your hand or something. It's basically impossible to use without a pump. The pump that fits this bottle perfectly costs another €5,- which I find rather ridiculous. MAC please, can't you just put a pump on the bottle and include it in the price? Anyway, when you have the pump, the foundation is very easy to use.

Product
I have a really fair skin tone, so the shade I got is called NW10, which matches me perfectly. As I said, the formula of this foundation is very thick. I don't really mind this, because when I put it on my face, I don't have to be afraid for it to run down my cheeks. Also, this foundation is oil-free, so if you have very oily skin, like me, this is a great product!
I use about one or two pumps of the foundation and apply it with my Zoeva 104 Buffer brush and blend it out over my entire face. It's really easy to blend into your skin, just as MAC promised and two pumps is more than enough. This way the bottle will last you for a while. It also sets very quickly onto my skin, so it doesn't stay sticky or anything.
The only thing I don't like about the formula, is the way it smells. It reminds me of paint that you use for walls or something and it's quite a strong smell. But maybe I just have to get used to this.

Finish
Oh. My. God. This is the first foundation I have found that does not make me shine like a diamond. When I use my Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet foundation I already have to powder my face after about three or four hours, because otherwise people can see their reflection in all the shine that's on my face.
I also really like the finish of it. It's matte, but it still looks quite natural, just like MAC promises. And the coverage is great. It covers up my acne scarring pretty good and if you want to add a second layer of foundation for a litlle more coverage, it blends amazingly, so you can build up the coverage rather easy!

Overall result
9/10

Would I recommend it to my friends?
Yes I would!

Love, Lisa
